Renaming and rebranding your Customer Portal

If your brand has changed — or if you're migrating from a previous help center setup — you can update your Customer Portal's name, URL, and visual identity at any time.

Updating the portal name

The portal name is what customers see in the browser tab and at the top of your portal.

  1. Go to Customer Portal → Settings → Basic information.
  2. Update the Portal name field.
  3. Click Save.

Updating the URL slug

The URL slug is the path used in your portal's address. For example, if your slug is help-center, your portal might be accessible at docs.yourstore.com/en.

  1. Go to Customer Portal → Settings → Basic information.
  2. Edit the URL slug field. Use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only.
  3. Click Save.

Note: Changing the slug changes your portal's URL. If you've already shared links to your portal, those old URLs will no longer work. Update any links on your website, in your chat widget, or in email signatures after making this change.

  1. Go to Customer Portal → Settings → Basic information.
  2. Click Upload logo and select your new logo file.
  3. Click Save.

Recommended: use a PNG or SVG file with a transparent background for the best result.

Updating the theme color and header

  1. Go to Customer Portal → Settings → Portal customization.
  2. Update the Theme color (use a hex color code), Page title, and Header text as needed.
  3. Click Save.

Setting up a custom domain

If you're rebranding, this is also a good time to set up a custom domain so your portal lives at a branded URL like help.yourbrand.com. See Setting up a custom domain for your Customer Portal for instructions.
