Setting up your Customer Portal

The Customer Portal lets you offer a full self-service knowledge base for your store. Customers can browse articles, search for answers, and find help without contacting your support team — and it can be linked directly from your website and chat widget.

Getting started

To set up your Customer Portal:

  1. Go to Tools → Customer Portal.

  2. Click on Add portal.

  3. Write down Help-Center name and select whether you want it hosted on Shopify or standalone domain

  4. Click on Create portal.

From there you can:

  1. Write your first article — click New article to open the editor and start creating content.
  2. Manage your articles — click My articles to see all your existing articles, filter by status, and make edits.
  3. Organize with categories — go to Settings → Categories to create and arrange topic groups.
  4. Customize the look and feel — go to Settings → Portal customization to match your brand.
  5. Preview your portal — click Live preview to see exactly what your customers will see.
