Managing multiple portals

Commslayer supports multiple Customer Portals within a single account. This is useful if you operate more than one brand, have audiences that need fundamentally different content, or want to maintain a separate internal knowledge base alongside a public-facing one.

When to use multiple portals

Use multiple portals if you:

  • Operate more than one brand and need entirely separate content and branding for each.
  • Serve both B2B and B2C customers who need very different articles.
  • Want to keep an internal team knowledge base separate from your customer-facing portal.

Use a single portal with multiple languages if you:

  • Serve customers in different countries but with the same product and same content needs.
  • Just want the same content translated — see Adding multiple languages to your Customer Portal.

Creating a new portal

  1. Go to Customer Portal.
  2. Click the portal name or switcher in the top area.
  3. Select Create new portal.
  4. Give the portal a name and slug, then click Save.

Your new portal starts empty. You can now add categories, write articles, and customize it independently of your other portals.

Switching between portals

  1. Go to Customer Portal.
  2. Click the Switch portal button (top of the page).
  3. Select the portal you want to manage.

Each portal has its own articles, categories, settings, and custom domain configuration.

Notes

  • Articles, categories, and settings are completely separate between portals — changes to one don't affect another.
  • Each portal can have its own custom domain.
  • AI agent knowledge base settings (Include in AI) are also managed independently per portal.
