Hide a product from the AI agent so it doesn't find it, recommend it or answer stock questions about it. Customers can still buy the product in your store.
Hide one product in Commslayer
- Go to AI agent → Knowledge and open the Products tab.
- Find the product and switch off Active on its row.
The change applies right away.
Hide many products with a Shopify tag
Add the tag commslayer-exclude to the products in Shopify. Shopify lets you add a tag to many products at once from the product list.
- Go to your Shopify admin and open the product.
- Add the tag
commslayer-exclude. - Save the product.
The tag is picked up with the next product sync, which runs once a day.
What is not possible
- Switching many products off at once inside Commslayer, or with a CSV file. Use the Shopify tag.
- Changing product visibility through an AI assistant connected over MCP.
Products that are draft or archived in Shopify are never used by the AI agent, so they don't need a tag.
